Raket-Madsen

This true crime book examines the shocking case of Danish inventor Peter Madsen, who in August 2017 killed Swedish journalist Kim Wall aboard his homemade submarine, UC3 Nautilus.

Author Thomas Djursing delves into Peter Madsen's background as a charismatic inventor and rocket hobbyist who, over the years, had built a reputation as an eccentric but skilled engineer with dreams of private space travel. The book portrays the contrast between the public fascination with Madsen as an innovative inventor and the dark sides of his personality that ultimately cost Kim Wall her life.

Through thorough research, Djursing sheds light on how Madsen manipulated his explanations following Kim Wall's disappearance, and how the police investigation slowly uncovered the horrifying truth. The book offers insight into both the perpetrator's psyche and the extensive investigation that led to Madsen's conviction.

'Rocket Madsen' was published shortly after the crime and was among the first works to attempt to understand how a celebrated inventor could commit such a brutal crime. The book gives readers a detailed account of one of Denmark's most talked-about criminal cases in recent times.
